Deana has had four books published with another one coming out soon. They are:
Heaven's Wildfire
Syd
Buttermilk Curve
Let the Eagle Scream

Deana also has several articles published over the years. In addition to her publishing accomplishments, she has also served as the President of the Idaho Falls chapter in 1987 and 1988. She served as the State Vice President in 1989 and the State President in 1990 and 1991.

During Deana's term of office as state president, she saw to it that each chapter appointed two delegates to attend the business meetings, which has made it much easier for the IWL to function. Prior to that time, no one would attend the business meetings, making it almost impossible to pass or upgrade any bylaws. Thanks to her efforts, the Idaho Writers' League runs smoothly today.

In addition to her service the the state organization, Deana has been the recipient of the Vardis Fisher Award in 1987, 1988, and 1992. She also received the Writer of the Year award for her book, Heaven's Wildfire, in 1987.

Deana graduated from Utah State University in Logan, Utah where she took many writing courses. She worked in various schools as a speech therapist until she retired. At that time, she joined the Idaho Writers' League and has been an active member of the organization for at least twenty years.
